On this day in 37 AD Nero (Lucius Domitius Ahenobarbus) was born at Antium.
This is the sole specimen of Nero’s final portraiture type (Type 5 coiffure), in the fabulous Worcester Art Museum
Worcester inventory no. 1915.23.

They let you take photos in the museum? Sweet. Sometimes the museum workers can be tempered with flash photography. Great shot.
Most museums let you photograph their antiquities without flash these days. Not that flash light would damage marble, but flashing marble heads yields awful results anyway.
